Beacon Associates has been awarded a subcontract by Aesir Group to support the Army Logistics University with Operational Contract Support classroom (OCSC) instruction and facilitation services.

Beacon will supply four instructors to ALU whose methods reflect the highest standards of adult education and the latest Program of Instruction. Courses are taught at the Army Logistics University in Fort Lee, Virginia—a composite “state of the art” learning center for military and DoD logistics leader education.

“We’re delighted that this contract further strengthens our support to the Army, adding to existing services we are currently supplying to other units. Beacon is already providing programmatic assistance to Fort Detrick, and our expertise is highly regarded at Aberdeen Proving Ground,” says Beacon COO Ann Marie Bryant.

Beacon instructors will provide training support to several courses, including the Pre-Command Course, Theater Logistics Course, Joint Course on Logistics, Performance Work Statement, and Contracting Officer Representative Course.

Created as a result of a 2007 Gansler Commission report on wartime contracting, the OCSC offered its first pilot course in July 2009 to increase commander understanding of contract management and integration by operational organizations. In 2011, more than 350 commanders graduated from the course.

Mason Holloway, Director on Consulting Services, believes this work stands as a clear testament to Beacon’s strength in the Federal Agency acquisitions arena. “Beacon has a unique expertise, based on the substantial resources we’ve invested in both understanding the Federal acquisition process and analyzing the needs of agencies involved in that same process. It’s a strength which is deeply appreciated by our Federal clients.”
