Beacon is proud to announce that their Senior Business Development and Marketing Analyst, Stacy Kauffman, was selected as a Distinguished Young AFCEAN for 2012.

The Distinguished Young (Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association) AFCEAN Award recognizes and rewards exceptional performance in two areas: superior technical achievement in the professional arena and a record of going “above and beyond” at the local AFCEA Chapter level. The AFCEA Regional Vice Presidents have the honor to personally select an individual from their Region to receive the Regional Distinguished Young AFCEAN Award. These honorees represent an elite group of individuals.

Stacy is currently the Programs Director for the Young AFCEA-Aberdeen Chapter and organized two large, successful events this year, including: the Annual Crab Feast on Military Appreciation Night to support the Young AFCEA operating fund, and the Inaugural 5K Run/1 Mile Walk to support local STEM Programs. The 5K Run was held on November 10th with 120 participants in attendance, and raised $7K to support STEM programs for the Harford County Boys and Girls Clubs and Edgewood Middle School.

“Stacy is a truly exceptional young professional,” said Ann Marie Bryant, Beacon’s Chief Operating Officer (COO). “We are proud of her initiative to give back to our community, and her drive to grow professionally.”

AFCEA was established to provide “an ethical forum in which government and industry leaders and decision-makers can meet to exchange ideas and concepts, discuss current problems and solutions and identify future requirements in the technical disciplines of communications, electronics, intelligence and information systems. The AFCEA forum encourages and enhances open dialogue essential to national and international cooperation and security”.
