Beacon’s CFO, Brian Smith, Nominated as Finalist for Tech Council of MD Awards

Beacon announced that Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Brian Smith, was selected as a finalist for CFO of the Year by the Tech Council of Maryland. Award finalists will be announced at TCM’s annual dinner and awards celebration to be held in Bethesda, Maryland on May 16th.

Mr. Smith was nominated for CFO of the Year due to his tremendous leadership during Beacon’s transition out of the 8(a) program graduation, his strong strategic vision, ability to see the big picture, and his instrumental role supporting Beacon’s strategic initiative to achieve ISO:9001 certification.

“Brian plays an invaluable role in Beacon’s executive team. He has been instrumental in helping us prepare, navigate through, and lead the company into the next phase of our journey as a medium-sized company.  We are honored that the Tech Council of Maryland has chosen to recognize his outstanding contributions as CFO,” said Carol Koffinke, President and Chief Executive Officer.

The Tech Council of Maryland’s Annual Tech Awards celebration is one of Maryland’s largest and most prestigious award ceremonies, bringing together more than 900 technology, biotechnology, government, academia, and supporting businesses to honor the Greater Washington region’s most accomplished executives and firms.
