Ruth Ann Raup Director, Human Resources

Ruth Ann Raup provides human resources counsel relevant to Beacon plans and decisions.  In addition, she manages a team of three who develop, coordinate and implement all of the organization’s human resources and training activities.
 
A life-long Maryland resident, Ruth Ann is a graduate of the University of Maryland, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in French and a Masters of Arts degree in education.
 
She is certified in Organization Development through Georgetown University, as well as being a certified Mediator and certified Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR).  Her academic and professional achievements include longtime membership in the Phi Kappa Phi honor society and Mensa International.
 
Ruth Ann's human resources career has spanned more than 30 years.  Prior to joining Beacon Associates she spent seven years as Human Resources Director at the United States Naval Institute; in other roles she supervised training and human resources projects at Zurich Insurance, Cigna Healthcare, CareFirst Blue Cross Blue Shield and Xerox Corporation.  She has also consulted on HR issues for such clients as the Rouse Company and the Baltimore City School system.
