What is Performance DNA?
Much like any living organism, organizations have blueprints or codes that “make them up.” In organisms we call this “DNA.” In organizations, there are processes, behaviors, politics, and skills that “make them up” and indicate how well an organization will perform in meeting its desired goals and outcomes. Beacon calls those items “Performance DNA,” which we have formulated into our proprietary way to approach organizations to assist in maximizing performance.
Performance DNA™, co-authored by Mason Holloway and jointly copyrighted with the American Society for Training and Development (ASTD), is based on the Human Performance Improvement (HPI) philosophy that understands the underlying causes of organizational behavior. It identifies the key processes or behaviors of performance that move an organization into the direction it seeks. It can virtually be applied to any organizational pain-point to uncover ways to move through it and achieve better results.
There are normally four phases that are part of Performance DNA™, and we work with each individual client to customize them for best results: Business Analysis, Performance Analysis, Key Performer Analysis, and Influence Analysis.

Performance DNA™ can work in a variety of ways for organizations that are undergoing change. The critical piece of Performance DNA™ is that it is always connected to organizational outcomes. It enhances the work performance of the employees in a way that makes the changes easy to adopt. It enhances what is working well within an organization and capitalizes on it.
